This section of my
site deals with the earliest records we have of the people who immigrated to
America after it's discovery by Columbus. I realized the other day while
searching for several of my own early relatives that there is lots of
information available but it is quite literally "all over the place".
The fact that two documents referring to the same person may spell the name
differently only adds to the problem. How can you know that the Robert Collins
you have found is the Robert Collins you wanted to find? I will attempt here to
pull all the data on these earliest heroes ( which they were in every sense of
the word) together in chronological sequence starting with the first appearance
of an individual in America. This is a huge endeavor and will be an on-going
project. If you have any data I can add to what is here, please feel free to
email me. Everything received from others will be noted as such. I currently
have data on about 30,000 individuals from the period 1600-1630 and will start
putting it up as time permits. So "click a letter" and see if your
ancestor is here.
P.S. The spellings are
those used in the original documents by and large. Family relationships have
been indicated when certain but otherwise not.
